Bedford Borough Council is thrilled to announce the return of its popular "Active Adults" programme, designed to encourage adults to embrace an active lifestyle through a variety of sports and activity courses. Whether local residents are looking to try something new or rekindle their passion for sports, Active Adults offers something for everyone.

Amy Stevens, Sports Development Officer at Bedford Borough Council, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "We're excited to bring the Active Adults programme to our community, providing a welcoming space for adults to explore new activities or revisit old passions. It's about fostering a sense of belonging and wellness through sports and recreation."

The programme caters to individuals of all backgrounds, including those who may have never tried sports before or are seeking to return to an activity in a relaxed, supportive environment. With sessions led by experienced and qualified coaches, participants can expect a welcoming atmosphere conducive to learning and growth.

The courses, organised by the Bedford Borough Council Sports Development Unit, will run for eight weeks and are exclusively tailored for adults. From new Kendo Fitness and Dance Classes to evening Yoga sessions, the programme boasts a diverse range of activities aimed at catering to various interests and fitness levels.

Key highlights of the programme include:

31 Courses: Offering a wide range of choices with 15 different activities to explore, including golf, walking football, indoor bowls and tennis.

14 Village Courses: Bringing the excitement closer to home in communities such as Turvey, Renhold, Great Denham, Wilstead, Kempston, Stagsden, Wootton, and Wixams.

8 Evening Sessions: Perfect for those with busy daytime schedules, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate.

Booking for these exhilarating courses opens on Tuesday, 15 April at 12.30pm, with courses scheduled to start from Monday 13 May. To secure a spot and find out more, people should visit www.bedford.gov.uk/activeadults.

To enhance convenience and streamline the booking process, participants are encouraged to register and set up an account with Bedford Borough Council, enabling better communication and updates for additional services.

Please note, all bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis, and payment can only be made online. Additionally, courses with low bookings may be subject to cancellation with one week's notice prior to the programme start date.
